Fasting and Cellular Detoxing

Fasting and detoxing should be a regular part of your nutritional routine!

Fasting for more than 24 hours naturally causes a detox reaction in your body. On this page we will focus on fasting and detoxing and why it is so important for your cellular health. 

 

Fasting may provide several health benefits, including weight loss, blood sugar control, and protection against medical conditions like cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

Despite its recent surge in popularity, fasting is a practice that dates back centuries and plays a central role in many cultures and religions.

Defined as abstinence from all or some foods or drinks for a set period, there are many different ways of fasting. Generally, most fasts are performed over 24–72 hours or longer. Fasting can have health benefits, such as increased weight loss, improved blood sugar, improved blood pressure, reducing inflammation, better brain function, prevention of neurodegenerative disorders, cancer prevention, boosting HGH and so many more. It's surprising that it's not regularly recommended to the public... 

The most important part of a fast or cleanse is the preparation and ending properly. If you don't regularly cleanse your body it can be a shock to just "jump in". It's usually best to prepare a few days early by tapering your volume of food, cutting out meat, dairy and bread and adding more high fiber fruits in the morning and green leafy vegetables in the evening. It's also important to check your PH and focus on a more alkaline diet. 

This will naturally start to happen as you cut meat, dairy, bread and add fruits and green leafy vegetables to your diet. Another great way to boost your alkalinity is to start your day with a powdered green drink; I do this daily, year round (in the list below). The best way to check your PH levels is with PH strips in the list of items below. It's important not to eat any food while fasting and focus on hydration to help your body eliminate toxins as they are released into your urine and bloodstream. 

In the fast below, we will also be adding elements that will assist in removing heavy metals from our system.

I have a list of recommended items below to help with your cleanse. You can replace any suggestions with your preferred items, these are just what I use for examples:

Pre-fast: 2 -3 days  leading up to your fast

It's very important how you begin a fast or cleanse. 
Depending on the amount of toxins in your body, this process can cause a large amount of toxins to dump into your blood stream at once. If your body is not ready for this, it can cause flu-like symptoms as your body is trying to rid itself of so many toxins. This is why I usually recommend starting a week early by focusing on hydration, eating more veggies and greens and cutting back on meat, dairy, wheat and grains. I also recommend using the recommended PH strips in the shopping list to check your PH levels. You want to be as alkaline as possible before starting a fast. This way your body is balanced and ready to help shuttle the toxins out in a healthy manner. Adding cilantro to your diet will also help start the heavy metal detoxing both now and after your diet.

The fast:

Day 1: (Zeolite, lemon water, green drink, bentonite, psyllium, sea salt) 

The night before your fast/cleanse, you want to eat light, like a mixed salad with lot's of different veggies and greens. Many people eat a large, dense meal because they won't be eating for 2 days, but this will only make it harder on your body. Day 1, we will start with a pinch of sea salt on our tongue, rinsed down with Cool water and teaspoon of zeolite. This will help alkalize our body with minerals and start out with zeolite on an empty stomach. The zeolite will help loosen up toxins in our intestines, absorb heavy metals and start the detoxing process. You won't be consuming any food today but you can drink lemon water, your green powder with water (as long as it has no fillers, just greens) or green tea if you need a little energy. In the late afternoon or evening you will mix 1 teaspoon of bentonite clay powder and 1 tsp of psyllium with cool water. Mix vigorously and drink quickly before it thickens. The bentonite clay is very absorbent and will help absorb toxins and heavy metals. Mixing it with psyllium ads bulk and cleansing properties to help clean your intestines and will also make you feel more full. Another small pinch of sea salt rinsed down with cool water before bed will fortify your mineral content and  also help you sleep better.

Day 2: (Zeolite, lemon water, green drink, bentonite, psyllium, sea salt) 

Good morning! Hopefully you slept well and are ready for another day of cleansing. Many people will find that they have plenty of energy because their body is not wasting energy on digestion. Your body will also start making a little more HGH (growth hormone) which can give you a physical and mental boost. Your protocol will be the same today, although, if you feel hungry, you can have the bentonite and psyllium shake for lunch to fill your stomach. Again, make sure you hydrate at least 1/2 gallon of water a day.

You're almost there! No dinner tonight; you only have to make it one more night! This is where many people stop, but if you think about it, just skipping this 1 dinner will let you get 10 or more hours of cleansing and sleep through it! Yes, this is the sleeping bonus that will give you an extra 10 hours of cleansing! This is the best part! You see, many people don't fast long enough to make it to the autophagy phase! Many people have never heard of this. Autophagy is where your cells not only dump toxins but they actually recycle old and damaged parts parts that they often can't, because we never stop eating long enough for the body to deep clean. This a literally a magic phase that can reduce inflammation, promote longevity and help the body heal itself! And by just making it one more night, you boosted your health benefits greatly; well done!!!

For the extra Zeolite and Bentonite: Keep taking the zeolite in the mornings (on an empty stomach) for the next few weeks and then every now an then as needed. The bentonite and psyllium is great to use every now and then to clean the pipes. Every few weeks, maybe skip dinner and have a psyllium and bentonite shake to clear the pipes and reset your metabolism. This is your journey and now you have a few more options to keep your body running clean1 

Post Fast

Now that you have cleaned your house, keep it clean! Take this time to appreciate your body and all that it does for you. What few small changes could you make and keep, that would help you tremendously? Maybe eat a little less sugar, less desert, more water, less simple carbs, especially at night... Maybe start eating more vegetables and cut back a little on meat, dairy and grains... It's amazing what small changes can do, over time to reduce weight, tone muscle, add energy and extend your life!
